The sudden termination of Teresa Weatherspoon by the Chicago Sky after just one season sent shockwaves through the league. "I think you handled it with grace, and it was unfortunate for many of us. I always believed that people come into our lives for a reason and a season, and I'm grateful for the time we had," Reese shared, reflecting on Weatherspoon's departure.

"I expected the same level of respect, but it wasn't given. It was their choice, and I had to accept it," she explained.

Looking back, Reese expressed nothing but gratitude and affection for her former coach.

Weatherspoon's first year as head coach of a WNBA team was challenging, with the Sky posting a disappointing 13-27 record and failing to make the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
