Brian Kendrella, President of Stack’s Bowers Galleries, expressed his pride in partnering with the United States Mint, calling it “an extraordinary honor” to bring these rarities to the public.

The U.S. Mint reported a staggering $85.3 million loss on penny production in the fiscal year 2024 alone. President Donald Trump even took to Truth Social in February to declare, “For far too long, the United States has minted pennies which literally cost us more than 2 cents. This is so wasteful! Let’s rip the waste out of our great nation’s budget, even if it’s a penny at a time.” Bold words, but are they justified?
