A beloved pop-up ramen shop is set to open its first permanent location in a New Jersey town next month, exciting locals and ramen enthusiasts alike. Tenmomi, known for its rotating pop-up appearances, will soon offer a dedicated dining experience in Rutherford. With a new menu, 28 seats, and free arcade games, the restaurant promises an engaging and flavorful adventure for customers.
The shop's current Westwood location will close on February 22, as the team prepares for the big move. Chef KC Gonzalez, with his extensive hospitality background, founded Tenmomi as a pop-up in 2022 and later expanded to a takeout-and-delivery service in Nutly. The upcoming Rutherford location marks a significant step in the brand's evolution.
The new space will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., significantly extending its operating hours. Gonzalez's ramen creations, including the popular black garlic tonkotsu, will remain the star of the menu. He also infuses his Filipino heritage into dishes like Sinigang Ramen, offering a unique twist on traditional Japanese cuisine.
The expanded menu will feature wings, Japanese-inspired katsu sando sandwiches, and burgers, catering to a variety of tastes. Gonzalez's confidence in his ramen skills is evident, as he believes his dishes are among the best in the state.
The community's positive response to the announcement has been heartening for Gonzalez, who is eager to bring his culinary expertise to a wider audience. With the new location, Tenmomi aims to become a go-to destination for ramen lovers in the area, offering a memorable dining experience that goes beyond the typical pop-up concept.
