Get ready for a legendary reunion and a controversial twist!
The iconic Ronnie James Dio's Black Sabbath era is being revisited with a new collection, 'Breaking Out of Heaven'. This retrospective is a celebration of Dio's remarkable third act with the band, a reunion that shocked and thrilled fans. But here's where it gets intriguing: the band's reincarnation as Heaven & Hell.
Rhino introduces this collection, covering the 2007-2009 period, when Dio reunited with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice, forming Heaven & Hell. This unexpected comeback brought them back to the spotlight, decades after their initial success.
Available on March 27th, the collection offers a 7 LP and 4 CD/Blu-ray box set experience. Each edition includes an illustrated book with insights from Hugh Gilmour, a tour book replica, and a poster, creating a comprehensive package for fans.
A highlight of this release is the Live From Radio City Music Hall performance on vinyl for the first time, featuring eight tracks making their vinyl debut. The collection also includes studio recordings from 'The Dio Years' and select live performances. The Blu-ray edition enhances the experience with video content from Live From Radio City Music Hall and Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell – Live at Wacken, as well as revealing band interviews.
The journey begins with their iconic 2007 New York performance, followed by the chart-topping studio album, 'The Devil You Know', and the live album 'Neon Nights', capturing their energy on tour in Germany.
Controversy Alert: Some fans might argue that this reunion dilutes the legacy of the original Black Sabbath. But does this unique collaboration enhance their iconic status? Share your thoughts below!
